E' stata appena diramata la lista dei nuovi numeri AMA per le stagioni SX e MX 2011. Ricordiamo che da quest'anno i piloti dovranno obbligatoriamente usare i numeri assegnati dalla AMA, a meno che si tratti di "career numbers". Il che vuol dire che gente come Davalos, Izzi o Lawrence non potranno più usare il 577, il 341 o il 338 come hanno fatto fino ad oggi. Gli unici tre "career number" riconosciuti dalla AMA sono il 377 di Chris Pourcel, l'800 di Mike Alessi e il 101 di Ben Townley.
Alcuni piloti hanno ottenuto un nuovo numero fisso e cioè: Justin Brayton (10); Kyle Chisholm (11); Dean Wilson (15); Tyla Rattray (28) e Trey Canard (41). Ricordiamo che i campioni in carica dovranno correre con il numero 1 nelle rispettive categorie in cui hanno vinto il titolo nel 2010. Nuovi numeri "notevoli" da ricordare: Tommy Hahn (12); Eli Tomac (19); Martin Davalos (23); Kyle Regal (30); Wil Hahn (31); Jake Weimer (32); Dan Reardon (34); Cole Seely (36); Tommy Searle (40); Nico Izzi (42); Max Anstie (52); Jason Lawrence (54); Blake Baggett (57); Ryan Morais (71) e Austin Stroupe (74). Tutti gli altri rimangono più o meno invariati. Curiosa l'assenza di Josh Hansen, che ovviamente abbiamo subito scelto come foto a corredo di questo pezzo ;)
